Introduction to the service

Sprinkler systems do one thing well when they’re designed right: they keep your lawn and plants alive without you thinking about it. When they’re designed wrong – wrong zone coverage, cheap heads that clog, no pressure regulation – you end up with dry patches next to oversaturated zones and a water bill that doesn’t match the results.

Taylor Made installs residential sprinkler systems and irrigation for homeowners throughout Tooele County and Salt Lake County. We design zone layouts that match your yard’s actual shape, soil type, and water pressure – not a generic template. We’re a local crew based in Grantsville, and we’ve been installing irrigation systems in Utah long enough to know what the ground here actually needs.

If you’re building a new yard, we’ll design the irrigation system as part of the overall plan. If you have an existing system that isn’t performing, we can assess it and make it work properly. Either way, we’ll come out, walk the property with you, and give you an honest picture of what it will take.

What Makes a Sprinkler System Actually Work in Utah?

Utah’s soil and climate are harder on irrigation than most homeowners realize. The clay-heavy ground in Tooele and Salt Lake County doesn’t absorb water the way sandy soil does – run your heads too long and you get runoff instead of absorption. Turn your system off too early in the fall and you’ll have cracked pipes and broken heads by spring. A sprinkler system that works here isn’t just about coverage – it’s about timing, pressure, and seasonal management.

We design zone-by-zone layouts based on your yard’s actual sun exposure, plant types, and soil conditions. Lawn zones run at different rates than drip zones for shrubs and garden beds. We set systems up so that each area gets what it needs – not what some generic schedule says it should get. We also walk every client through proper winterization so the system survives a Utah freeze without cracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of sprinkler systems does Taylor Made install?

We install residential sprinkler systems and drip irrigation for homes throughout Tooele and Salt Lake County. Most systems include multiple zones – separate zones for lawn areas, garden beds, shrubs, and trees – so each area gets the right amount of water. We also install smart controllers, do repair and assessment on existing systems, and handle spring startup and fall winterization. If you’re not sure what your yard needs, we come out and figure it out with you.

Yes. We’re based in Grantsville and install irrigation systems throughout Tooele County and Salt Lake County – including Stansbury Park, Tooele City, Erda, Herriman, Riverton, West Valley, and Magna. If you’re in a nearby area not listed, reach out and we’ll let you know whether we can help.

Cost depends on yard size, number of zones, and whether drip irrigation is included alongside spray heads. A small residential system with 3-4 zones runs less than a full multi-zone system for a large yard with separate lawn, garden bed, and drip zones. We provide free on-site estimates – that’s the only real way to give you an accurate number, because every yard is different.

Yes. We diagnose and repair existing systems – broken or clogged heads, leaking valves, pressure problems, dead zones, and coverage gaps. We’ll assess what you have, tell you honestly what’s worth repairing and what’s better replaced, and fix what needs fixing. If the system is old enough that repairs don’t make sense, we’ll tell you that upfront.

Winterizing requires blowing the lines clear with compressed air before the first hard freeze – water left in the pipes and heads will freeze, expand, and crack them. If we install your system, we walk you through the process and can handle the blowout for you each fall. If you have an existing system, we do winterization as a standalone service. In Grantsville and Tooele County, you generally want this done before mid-October.
